Lawyers Alliance selects TitleVest to provide title services to nonprofit housing organizations

Significant cost savings for low-income home buyers and nonprofit housing organizations are assured by a new pro bono partnership established this week by the Lawyers Alliance for New York and the New York-based real estate services firm TitleVest.

Under the agreement, TitleVest will waive fees for affordable housing clients vetted by the alliance on title, judgment and lien searches, open mortgage searches, bankruptcy and foreclosure searches. Neither will the firm charge for escrow services, document recording services, survey inspections and mortgage payoffs.

The agreement was reached this week by Bill Baron, president of TitleVest, and Sean Delany, executive director of the Lawyers Alliance.
